St. John’s College Boat Club was founded in 1910, and has since become one of the largest societies at St. John’s with around 80 members from all common rooms. Our crews practise at least two times per week on the River Wear, in addition to land training using the college gym rowing machines and whole-club circuit sessions. Our club has a friendly environment with regular social events where everyone is welcome!
We encourage both experienced rowers and complete beginners to join our club! There is room for everyone, whether you’d like to row competitively, try out coxing or join as a social member. Please have a look at our “about” page for more information, and get in touch if you have any questions about rowing at John’s.
